Jeanette Winterson CBE published her first novel, Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, at age 25. More than 20 years later she revisited that material in her bestselling memoir Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal? She has written more than a dozen novels, two collections of short stories, plus non-fiction and screenplays. She is Professor of New Writing at the University of Manchester.
